2017 Already Intense for Israel
Already 2017 has proven to be a year like many others in recent memory. The latest international gathering in Paris was just another attempt by world leaders to try to force Israel to give up her land to Palestinian Arabs who seek to establish yet another Islamic country in the Middle East. In return, they offered the empty promise that Islamic terrorists will suddenly leave Israel alone. Going into the convention, there was a feeling of panic by world leaders who had just condemned Israel at the U.N. council but recognized the new U.S. administration would be very supportive of Israel and her historical right to the land. Thankfully, that convention experienced mass confusion and only resulted in yet another symbolic gesture against Israel without any lasting consequences.
On the local front, here in Jerusalem, 2017 has already been marred with several attacks including a Palestinian Arab from Jerusalem who used his work truck to run over a dozen people who were standing at a spot overlooking the Old City and the Mt. of Olives. Terrorists continue to wreak havoc in the lives of Israeli families as they crush, stab and ram their way into the Islamic book of Martyrs. These self-proclaimed soldiers of Jihad have been inspired by their government leaders, school teachers and family to fight to the death for ownership of an ancient Jewish city called Jerusalem – and ultimately the whole land of Israel.
This news is disturbing but still distant to most of the world’s population, because most of the world’s population doesn’t live in Israel. While Western Christian culture wrestles with the moral decline of its people, Islamic radicals as close as 50 miles from our home in Jerusalem are running kindergartens to train kids in how to fire rifles and behead real people. They live close to us, but their eyes are set on the distant horizon of Europe and the United States.
If this makes you nervous, don’t be. Historically, the bigger the attack against the people of God, the more impressively God steps in to shut down the enemy. Our job is simply to stick close to Him and call others to do the same.
When God chose Israel to be a “light to the world” He made it Israel’s destiny to be a blessing to your life. The more people in Israel live right before God, the more they are able to fulfill that destiny. That is why we are here in Jerusalem serving, reaching out to Israel’s lost and discipling young believers.
Our mission is not just to see people accept the mercy of God for a day, but to train them to walk in His mercies daily – for the rest of their life. When you support Yeshua Israel, you are supporting the spiritual health of the Body of Messiah in Israel.
If you have even $10 or $20 a month you can invest in the fertile soil of Israel, please do. Your gifts enable us to pour into the lives of the Israeli people. And we are confident you will personally enjoy God’s blessing in return! (Genesis 12:3)
In His Service,
